Everything is possible when a dog puts their heart to something. So when Abby, a four-year-old Lab and Pit Bull mix, went missing, the dog made it very apparent. She spent her days alone, searching for a particular person, and she seemed to know precisely where to look.
Without a doubt, the astute dog walked into the Walmart entrance. Since she was on a mission, the “no dogs” regulation didn’t apply. She didn’t immediately find the human she was seeking, but she certainly created a stir.
A customer sales assistant, Danielle Robinette, was the first to spot the dog enter the store. However, something wasn’t right because Abby didn’t have a collar, service dog vest, or leash. She promptly got up and followed the dog, as she is a passionate animal lover.
Abby scanned the area with her nose in the air, hoping to spot or scent someone she recognized. Finally, June Rountree, the cashier at register 6, noticed the dog. Unfortunately, Abby had generated such a disturbance by that time that many personnel and customers attempted to capture the fleeing dog.
Rountree dashed over to the dog and effortlessly embraced her. Abby returned the embrace, which was the first time she’d slowed down in the store. Everyone was puzzled, but they quickly gathered a dog leash.
Rountree finally calmed down enough to tell Robinette about her excitement. Abby was her puppy, who she had taken in as a stray a few years earlier. Three weeks ago, the dog got detached from her collar while strolling and had gone missing. Rountree searched the entire area for her and contacted the local shelter, but the puppy is nowhere to be found.
Rountree was able to take Abby home during her lunch break, where she dozed and played with her Chiweenie sister Coco as if nothing had happened. Everyone who observed the episode, including Robinette, is still in awe of the dog’s bravery and loyalty. Thousands of people have shared the tale on Facebook since then.
Everyone is still baffled as to how Abby ended up at her mother’s workplace. Rountree lives roughly 1.7 miles from work, but there are two busy roads between the two. So it’ll be a mystery how Abby got there and located her mother. Rountree, on the other hand, is relieved to see her best buddy again.
