Tika, the Italian Greyhound, is anything but plain. She lives for fashion. But when the pandemic hit, Tika wasn’t able to strut the streets like she used to. She turned to social media and quickly found herself in the limelight.
Tika’s lockdown dilemma
What does it take to get nine million likes on TikTok? Well, Tika knows the answer. All she does is look pretty, cute, and utterly stylish in every post. No wonder she has over a million followers across her social media channels. Tika knows how to turn her frustration into fashion.
Tika loves wearing fashionable clothes and modeling them before the camera. Her owner, Thomas Shapiro, has a whole year of outfit planned out for Tika. But then the lockdown happened, and Tika was stuck at home. Tika was stripped of the opportunity to showcase her fantastic wardrobe to the world.
According to Thomas, Tika has so many clothes because Italian greyhounds like her get cold so quickly. And since they live in the cold Montreal climate, Tika has to bundle up. But that doesn’t mean she has to settle with boring knitted sweaters. She likes her clothes with plenty of style and color, which matches her exuberant personality.
Living for fashion
Thomas love posting Tika on social media, but his friends commented that all he did was post his dog. So, the adoring dog dad decided to sign up Tika on TikTok and Instagram. It proved to be a good thing because people quickly noticed how fashionable Tika is, and they’re rooting for her style.
Tika’s posts were soon picked up by various publications and shared by a few celebrities like Brooke Shields and Sofia Vergara. In no time, Tika’s following grew beyond anyone expected. She has over 600,000 followers on TikTok and another 400,000 on Instagram. There’s no doubt Tika is one of the hottest dogs on the internet right now!
The pandemic has certainly dampened our spirits. Tika wasn’t pleased with the lockdown herself, but she’s taken things in stride. Right now, she’s happy to strut her elegant outfits in her home’s hallway and win the love of thousands of her online fans. She hopes to rub off some of her positive energy to anybody who visits her channel, and well, she’s doing a pretty good job at it.
