Since time immemorial, dogs have always been a source of entertainment, joy, and the occasional house fire. We’ll explain this statement in detail in this story.
Meet Golden Retriever extraordinaire, Molly. She’s this family’s pride and joy, and on this day, this pet accidentally became an unintentional arson.
Molly went for a quick midnight snack, and she unwittingly switched the oven to high. The cookies she targeted were sitting on top of the oven, so it’s no wonder the dog went there.
Ashley O’Donnell, Molly’s mom, said that she and her husband went to bed thinking just another regular day ended. Little did she know that Molly’s hungry midnight hunt for grub would change all that.
The house cam captured what went down. We could see Molly standing up on her hind legs to reach the cookies, and when she switched the oven knob on by accident.
The fire did its job quickly, and soon, the whole kitchen was filled with smoke. Fortunately, these home and pet owners also had smoke detectors in the house.
Ashley and her husband were awakened by the smoke alarm, marking that day as the Molly-started-a-fire day. We never really know how our day would turn out.
Luckily, nobody got hurt in the incident. Molly might have had a bit of singed fur, but because she got her cookies, she was happy. We sincerely hope that nothing of this sort happens again, pet!
We’re sure that this family didn’t have the heart to scold their dog. Yes, the oven was cracked, but other than that, no one else was harmed.
No one’s stopping this dog from getting her cookies, singed or not. We bet those treats tasted a bit smoky, but that must have just added to their appeal. Do take care from now on, Molly!
