When we’ve had enough, we’ve had enough. No amount of coaxing will change our minds, and we just shut everything down. We then go to our quiet zone and just stay put for a bit.
We think of this as a meltdown, but in reality, it’s just a way of saying we just need to take a break. That’s precisely what this Golden Retriever did.
The male pet was grudgingly convinced to take a walk by his owner and he tried his best to power through. That false bravado didn’t last long because, after roughly 400 meters of walking, the dog plopped down.
He could no longer find anything in him to get up and move, so he did what his body wanted to do. We couldn’t blame this doggo for behaving this way.
After all, it’s not like him to just abandon his duties. He wanted to take a break, but since his hooman was insistent, he tried to humor dad.
The point is, this golden boy tried, so no one could say that he didn’t. He was spent, and he needed time to be alone and just free himself of everything.
Dad wanted his ward to get up and continue walking, so he did everything to motivate the pet. Nothing worked, and leash tugs only resulted in some gnawing.
That’s when dad thought to unleash the dog to hopefully make him feel that he was being left alone out there. If this hooman thought that would get the furball up and running, he was sorely mistaken.
The pet stayed down, convinced that the pavement and grassy lawns around him were his zen buddies. he checked where dad was going, and since he knew the way to their house, he wasn’t concerned.
