Food is, perhaps, one of the best things introduced to our race. It gives us the energy we need to function every day. The myriad of flavors it has allows us to experience a variety of emotions. Each bite takes us on a different kind of adventure.
Now, the thing about food is that it also has the capacity to blow us up like a balloon. They taste so great that sometimes, the weight we gain because of it goes unnoticed. The only time this comes to our attention is when our clothes don’t fit anymore or when we see the numbers on the scale.
Drax, a Labrador from Queensland, Australia, had this realization some months ago. Nope, he wasn’t trying on clothes or standing on the weighing scale when it happened. In fact, the truth dawned on him when he broke the door on his way out.
A wake-up call
You’re probably wondering how Drax broke the door. Well, he was on his way to follow his cousins through the doggy door when he got stuck. Confused as to why that happened, he tried to wiggle himself to break free. He ended up breaking the door off its hinges!
Charmaine Hulley, Drax’s owner, was surprised when she learned about what happened. While she found it hilarious, she couldn’t help but worry about the Labrador’s health. She put him on a strict diet since that day to help him get rid of excess body weight.
Project weight-loss
Drax’s new diet looks nothing like the frequent KFC meals he’s used to getting, but that’s fine. He’s focused on trimming down and ridding himself of all the extra pounds he’s packed over the years. That way, he can pass through doggy doors without getting stuck or breaking them off their hinges!
